What it doesn’t discuss, however, is how long it will take for new projects to start given the current price response.
The cure for high prices is always high prices but to bring a new copper project from discovery to production is something like 7-10yrs depending on the jurisdiction. The required response to these high prices could drag on for some time before we can physically bring meaningful new supply online for the increased demand we’re seeing.
